What’s he done with them? Chris Evans has ‘lost’ a million listeners to his BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show since last quarter.

This time last year, Terry Wogan’s ‘Wake Up To Wogan’ was credited with 7.93 million listeners per week whereas latest figures suggest that Chris Evans currently has a meagre 8.48 million!

As the Rajar figures show, Chris Evans is still ahead on a year to year basis and there may well be some seasonal adjustments accounting for the drop from last quarter’s record 9.53 million. The holiday season and exceptional good weather may be turning people to their iPod on the beach instead… or maybe he’s just getting boring!

In fairness, this remains an impressive achievement following the concerns about the departure of Sir Terry Wogan from the Radio 2 Breakfast slot last year and credit should go to Chris Evans for restoring faith in him after the difficulties with his former BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show.
