It’s holiday time and finances are tight but 2 for 1 on a Eurotunnel journey may not be quite what some passengers were expecting.

Eurotunnel are apparently investigating claims that staff left a wagon loaded with seven vehicles on Saturday on arrival in France. The unfortunate passengers returned to Folkestone and then back again to Calais arriving two and a half hours later than planned.

The error occurred as staff emptied the train and reached an empty wagon not realising that there were additional vehicles further along the train. The empty wagon was as a result of an earlier fuel spill.

Eurotunnel are reported to have given refunds and offered a free ticket for a future journey. In that case it may be 3 for the price of none… a two and a half hour delay on the M25 means you go nowhere so it might have had some small benefit.
